Welcome to the BETTY Film Festival.

As seductive as the field of poppies that cast a spell over Dorothy and her friends in Oz, movies afford BETTY the opportunity to be bigger than life without that irksome compulsion to duck or diet. In some of their films you have to look FAST or you'll miss their starlette moments.

"I Remember BETTY": The 9-minute Mockumentary about the rise and fall of the band. (Director Michelle Parkinson, 1987)

"First We Take Manhattan": BETTY's first appearance in a big-budget feature, albeit all in Chinese. As extras, Amy and Alyson dodge a hail of bullets and subtitles, Elizabeth is shot and dies as dramatically as Bugs Bunny plugged by Elmer Fudd. No one has been able to track down a copy of this 1988 masterpiece. (Director: You Got Us, 1988)

"Life With Mikey": A charming Disney film, destined to become a Christmas classic. Starring Michael J. Fox, Nathan Lane and Cyndi Lauper, the highlight of the movie is a conversation between Fox and the kid as they pass a trio of street singers in various shades of leather. Another guest star is Robin Byrd. (Producer: Teri Schwartz, Director: James Lapine, 1993)

Songs from the "Life With Mikey" Soundtrack:

  • Hark, the Herald Angels Sing — mp3
  • Silent Night — mp3

"It's Pat!": Try and spot BETTY as Kareoke Bar waitresses in Julia Sweeney's love story, also starring Dave Foley, Charles Rocket and that Vicky woman from Suddenly Susan. (Director: Adam Bernstein, 1994)

"The Out-of-Towners": Alyson and Elizabeth are shoplifters and Amy is a sexoholic in this funny film starring Goldie Hawn, Steve Martin, John Cleese and Mayor Guliani. (Director: San Weisman, 1999).

Soundtracks:

  • "The Incredible Adventure of Two Girls In Love" - The chase scene is fueled by the song "Atypical Love" from the BETTY album "Limboland".
  • "The Out-of-Towners" - As Goldie Hawn and Steve Martin drive from Boston to New York, she turns on the radio to soothe their jangled nerves. A loud, rocking song comes on instead. You guessed it, the title track to "Limboland" by BETTY.
