This year Byrdcliffe is honoring three extraordinary people at our 2017 Byrdcliffe Awards celebration. Rich Conti, who has served as the Ceramics Program Manager, Teacher, and artist, will be receiving the new Carla T. Smith Award for his exceptional contribution to our organization over the years. Kate Pierson is a musician, songwriter, and community activist who will be receiving the Whitehead Award. Manuel Bromberg, a notable artist both in painting and sculpture, will receive the Byrdcliffe Award. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to publicly recognize this year’s honorees for their dedication and artistic contribution to the disciplines of ceramics, music, and fine art, and also to further Byrdcliffe’s mission of promoting artists in our community.
Money raised at this event will support our programming as well as the upkeep and expansion of the artistic work spaces at the Byrdcliffe Art Colony.
